Lackus Iacobus Riordan XXXVII was born in Oppara, in the Kingdom of Taldor on 14 Abadius 4690. His father was Eudonius Recobus Riordan XVII (deceased), a minor noble. His mother is Komina Riordan (40). He has two younger sisters, Adina Riordan (14) and Pasara Riordan (8).

In the summer of 4700, At the age of ten, Lackus was apprenticed at one of the wealthier churches of Abadar in Oppara. This taxed heavily the family’s dwindling wealth. The Riordans had been a wealthy and influential family for generations until Lackus’ grandfather, Lackus Iacobus Riordan XXXVI, made several poor investments and then spent the rest of his life desperately trying to win his wealth back through gambling.

Lackus’ father, Eudonius, poured much of the remainder of the family wealth into the education of his son. Eventually, to continue paying for schooling and support his family’s life style, Eudonius took out several shady loans in secret.

In 4710, as Lackus was nearing the end of his apprenticeship, His father Eudonius was found murdered in an alley. Lackus was furious and spent munch of his time over the next two years investigating the crime himself. He quickly discovered evidence of his father’s shady dealings. He repeatedly attempted to contact the authorities and share what information he had gathered but was always rebuffed. Lackus suspected deep corruption within the guard but was forced to the drop the issue when his mother began receiving veiled threats.

By the beginning of 4712 the threats on Lackus and his family’s well being were coming back with more intensity. After a botched attempt on his life, Lackus finally made the decision to abandon his ancestral home of Oppara and relocate his family. The corruption was too wide spread and Lackus knew he would never be able to simply ignore it.
